About April

Like many people, April Reign has used music to enhance her life and those around her. She was born in Victoria, BC to a musical family, growing up on the East and West coasts of Canada. As a child on the East Coast, she absorbed the culture and musical nature of the Maritimes. Encouraged by her grandfather, who helped found The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts in Summerside, PEI, she continued to grow as a performer returning to the West Coast, singing all different genres of music. While living in Victoria, she was part of many different acts and won numerous competitions and awards. April has been privileged to open shows for some great North American talents including Tom Cochrane, Colin James, Johnny Reid, George Canyon, Little Big Town, Toby Keith, and Dierks Bentley just to name a few.

Since moving to the lower mainland from Victoria, April has expanded her musical ventures significantly, performing and recording with acts such as The Rollin' Trainwreck, Melody Lovejoy, and more recently, recording a duet with Hillside Outlaws. As part of Derek Pitts and the Bullets, April provides the essential backup vocals and harmonies during performances, on their debut album, and their first music video for "Trouble" released in 2018. These recent events culminated in the summer of 2018 in April being signed to MyTone Records. Reign's current main focus is her solo project, featuring her own written music. She performs originals and covers across all genres as an intimate duo or an entire band.

April has many musical accomplishments, including finishing in the 'Top 10' at the Red Robinson’s BC Talent Search, was a repeat finalist in Victoria Idol for seven years, and won Best Live Act (with the Turnpike Bandits) at the Vancouver Island Music Awards. Subsequently, she was elected to be an awards judge the following year. Ms. Reign has been an artist at the Halifax Beatles Festival, Rockin' River Music Festival, Sunfest Country Festival, and the Calgary Stampede including the Coca Cola Stage. These shows were so well received that she was invited back to perform on multiple occasions.

Being a sports fan has enhanced every opportunity to sing not only the Canadian and American anthems, but learning other languages for national anthems of multiple sports teams and events since 2004, These have included the BC Lions, World Softball Championships, and Western Hockey League games.

A busy 2019 revs up with the release of April Reign's first single "Falling off the Earth" and recent release of the Derek Pitts and the Bullets first music video for "Trouble". Plans for a radio tour following her first single release in March are shaping up, as well as a Canadian summer tour to promote the up and coming release of her EP. She will be heading to the world-renowned Warehouse studios to record her original album in late spring.

April is a consummate professional singer and artist, and by all definitions a true performer.
